Jordan Segundo has been hired as the new CBS13 Weather Anchor (KOVR) and Good Day Sacramento Anchor/Reporter (KMAX) in Sacramento, California (Top 20 Television Market), a duopoly owned and operated by CBS Corporation.

Beginning January 9, 2019, Jordan will join the CBS13 team, Monday through Friday as weather anchor from 5:00 to 7:00 a.m., then move over to the station's flagship program, Good Day Sacramento as anchor/reporter from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m.

In announcing this appointment, Mike Dello Stritto, News Director of KOVR-TV/KMAX-TV said, “I couldn’t be more excited to introduce Jordan to Sacramento audiences.  I know they’ll quickly learn what Hawaiian viewers already know, that he is a smart, interesting and innovative talent.  I also hear he sings!!”

A graduate of the University of Hawaii Manoa, Segundo earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism.  In January 2016, he joined the KITV4 Island News Team as a weekend weather anchor and weekday reporter.  Two years later he became the weekend morning anchor and weekday weather anchor on Good Morning Hawaii.

Before joining KITV4, Segundo gained considerable on-camera experience at KHON2 News, taking on different roles including commentator for “American Idol,” FOX VIP Correspondent and as a weekly host on “Living808”.

“Growing up in Hawaii has shaped me into the individual that I am today.  Hawaii will always have a special place in my heart; it will always be my home.  I am grateful to the people of Hawaii for all of their support throughout the years," Segundo said reflecting on his feelings for his home state.  "I am excited for this next step in my journey, and I look forward to sharing my Hawaii values and the spirit of Aloha with the people of Sacramento and wherever I may go in my career.”

A multi-talented individual, Segundo is recognized as the first singer from Hawaii to become a finalist on the nationally acclaimed televised singing competition, “American Idol,” in 2003.  Since then, Segundo has performed across the nation in concerts and events with some of the entertainment industry's biggest stars.  In addition, Segundo has credits as a professional actor including a principal-role on the TV-series, “Hawaii Five-0”.

“I am thrilled to continue my career in Sacramento, California.  It is an honor to join the talented team at CBS13 and Good Day Sacramento,” Segundo said.

Segundo’s final day at KITV4 will be January 6, 2019, and he departs Hawaii on January 7, 2019.
