Jordan Segundo joined the KITV4 Island News Team on January 4, 2016 as weekend weather anchor and reporter.  Currently in training, he will make his on-air debut in mid-January as weather anchor on Saturday and Sunday mornings, joining anchor Moanikeala Nabarro for Hawaii’s only weekend morning news show “Good Morning Hawaii”.   He will also work as a reporter three days a week.  Segundo’s educational background includes an Associate Degree from Honolulu Community College and he is currently enrolled at The University of Hawaii at Manoa and will complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism in May, 2016.

An avid hiker and fitness enthusiast, Jordan understands the value of accurate weather information and the impact that weather has on our everyday lives.  He will utilize KITV4’s new weather tracking technology to bring viewers the most detailed and reliable weather news and information.

“Growing up in Hawaii, I’ve always had an interest in the weather and a passion for story-telling,” said Segundo.  “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do what I love and combine my many passions into one.  I am honored to be a part of the KITV4 Island News Team and I look forward to contributing to the station’s important mission of service to the community.”

A multi-talented individual, Segundo is recognized as the first singer from Hawaii to become a finalist on the nationally acclaimed televised singing competition “American Idol” in 2003.  Since then, Segundo has performed across the nation in concerts and events with some of the entertainment industry’s biggest stars.  In addition, Segundo is a professional actor with credits including a principal role on “Hawaii Five-0” and several commercials.

Prior to joining KITV4, Segundo gained considerable on-camera experience at KHON2 taking on different roles including commentator for “American Idol”, FOX VIP Correspondent and most recently as a weekly host for “808 Update” on “Living808”.

"Jordan has grown tremendously in the last several years.  We are extremely happy that he will be joining the KITV team for the next phase of his career,” said KITV4 News Director Chuck Parker.
